Nissan Introduces Edgier Track-Focused GT-R

The updated 2012 Nissan GT-R delivers even better performance than its predecessor, largely due to a more potent 545-horsepower twin-turbo V6 under the hood. The bump in power would be more than enough for most drivers, but according to Nissan, drivers of the GT-R are a rare breed, always demanding more.

Luckily, Nissan is more than happy to oblige their adrenaline-addicted customers. That’s why Nissan UK has just introduced the Track Pack for the GT-R. This package is specifically designed to improve lap times on the track while still being fully street-legal.

The Track Pack’s exterior enhancements include lightweight six-spoke RAYS alloys with gloss black painted centers. The package also adds a stiffer suspension system, extra ducting front and rear, an interior stripped of its rear seats, and it’s bolstered in the front for harder cornering.

In the UK, the new Track Pack will be cost an additional £10,000 ($15,000) over the base GT-R’s price. Unfortunately, there has been no word on whether this track-focused upgrade will be made available to American buyers.
