2013 Acura RDX Impresses Consumer Reports

In a recent compact luxury crossover comparison, Consumer Reports found that the all-new 2013 RDX had come a long way. Once a weak spot in Acura’s lineup, the new RDX now impresses thanks its its roomy cabin, powerful engine, and overall user-friendliness.

One of the biggest changes int he 2013 RDX comes under the hood. The latest generation features a 3.5-liter V6 in lieu of the outgoing model’s turbocharged four-cylinder. This new engine produces 273-horsepower and comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

CR editors especially liked the RDX’s softer ride, but they were less enthusiastic about the crossover’s handling. They found that the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 offered more responsiveness and athleticism.

Despite its more leisurely on-road demeanor, the  2013 RDX won the coveted “Recommended” badge in part due to the crossover’s strong fuel economy and expected above average reliability.
